Symphony by the Sea kicks off its 2016 season next month with performances on Saturday and Sunday, April 2 and 3. The Saturday concert will be held in Newburyport at 1pm, and the Sunday show will be held at 3 p.m., in Beverly.

One of the most famous and beloved pieces of music ever performed, Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusic (“A Little Night Music”) opens this graceful and pleasing program of serenades and a symphony. Along with Dvorak’s Serenade for Strings and Schubert’s Symphony No. 5, the concert is offered to celebrate spring and leave you refreshed.

This is the second of the three-concert subscription series at the Cabot as Symphony by the Sea commemorates 35 years of performances. In addition, the symphony’s 35th Gala will be held on May 14th with Peter Sagal of NPR’s “Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me.”
